Day 2, Part 1
You arrive early the next morning to pre-round on your patients. You decide to start with Mr. Elliot as he is the most ill.
His admission orders included:
- Two sets of blood cultures
- Transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE)
- A fresh-voided A.M. urinalysis for microscopic exam
- Pharyngeal culture
- Rheumatoid factor
- ASO titer
- LDH
- MRI head, ankle, thigh
Use the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Gather data from Mr. Elliot's stay overnight. Start with a
chart biopsy. Review his overnight
vital signs (making note of any prominent abnormalities). Analyze his morning laboratory and new imaging
results - be sure to note and identify the possible causes of any derrangements.
